About James

Stabile-Patterson

Because how we see changes everything.

Hi, I’m James.
I help people see themselves and others differently with more compassion. Whether I’m teaching the Enneagram, speaking to a packed room, or sitting across from someone just beginning their healing journey, my hope is always the same: that you begin to see your story with more honesty, kindness, and freedom.

I believe transformation starts with perspective. When the way we see changes, our relationships shift, our patterns loosen, and compassion for ourselves and for others becomes possible.

This isn’t just theory for me. It’s personal. I’ve seen what happens when people get curious about their own story. It changes families, friendships, faith, and entire communities.

A Legacy of Wisdom, Translated for Today

I grew up surrounded by this work. As the son of renowned Enneagram teacher and best-selling author Suzanne Stabile, conversations about compassion and transformation were normal dinner-table talk.

I spent my formative years listening to some of today’s most influential spiritual and psychological thinkers. Richard Rohr, Brian McLaren, Tony Jones, Nadia Bolz-Weber, Russ Hudson, and many others shaped me deeply, not just as a teacher, but as someone who believes in the power of understanding human stories.

My approach isn’t just inherited wisdom. It is grounded in real-world experience. As an ABA therapist, life coach, and Enneagram teacher, I bring clinical insight, trauma-informed care, and a deep respect for the complexity of human behavior to every conversation. My work bridges spiritual wisdom and practical growth. It is accessible, applicable, and rooted in compassion.

My Approach: Honest, Hopeful, Human

At my core, I’m a storyteller. Real and honest stories help us break free from the protective shells we build around ourselves. My teaching style is warm and approachable. Sometimes it feels like a cup of tea. Sometimes it feels like a pep talk. Sometimes it feels like that loving but honest friend who pushes you just enough to get unstuck.

This work isn’t about quick fixes or personality labels. It is about understanding why we do what we do, learning to hold that with compassion, and slowly reconnecting with the truest parts of who we are.

I laugh a lot. I cry with people when it matters. And I tell the truth even when it is hard because that is where real growth begins.

Why This Matters to Me

I’ve been the person stuck in old patterns, wondering if change was even possible. I’ve wrestled with identity, faith, and the stories I inherited. I know what it feels like to hold it all together on the outside while feeling disconnected from your true self.

That is why I do this work. I have experienced the power of being truly seen and learning to see myself with more kindness than I thought I deserved. I want that for you too.
